There’s something magical about a Friday afternoon wedding— the golden light a little softer, and everyone seems just a bit more ready to celebrate. Hannah and Kai’s wedding at Sage & Social in Mulino, Oregon, was the perfect blend of retro charm, heartfelt moments, and joyful celebration.
When I arrived at the venue, both Hannah and Kai were in their separate getting-ready suites, adding the final touches to their looks. Hannah was also finishing something extra special—writing the last lines of her vows into a delicate little vow book. It was quiet and meaningful, a perfect reflection of the day to come.
The venue itself was a photographer’s dream: disco balls, pampas grass, and a full retro/boho vibe that was both stylish and fun. Every corner of Sage & Social had personality, from the textures of the barn to the open lawn surrounded by trees.
We brought Hannah and Kai out for their first look on the lawn. Hannah gently tapped Kai on the shoulder, and the moment he turned around was full of joy and emotion. They read their personal vows to one another privately, bathed in sunlight filtering through the trees—it was quiet, sweet, and everything you’d want in an intimate moment before the ceremony.
After soaking in that moment together, we took some time for couple portraits around the property. The light, the setting, and the way they looked at each other made for a gorgeous portrait session. From there, we moved into family photos and soon, it was time for the ceremony.
Guests gathered before the covered area where disco balls sparkled and pampas grass framed the altar. As the music began and Hannah made her way down the aisle, everyone was beaming. Their ceremony was full of love, laughter, and the kind of joy that makes you tear up behind your camera lens.
Once they were officially married, Hannah and Kai signed their marriage license inside the barn. We gathered everyone back on the lawn for wedding party and group photos, capturing the fun, love, and color of their day.
As the sun dipped lower, guests played lawn games and enjoyed cocktail hour while homemade desserts filled the reception tables with charm and sweetness. The reception kicked off with dinner, heartfelt toasts, cake cutting, and plenty of dancing. The dance floor stayed full, and the photo booth added a whole new layer of fun. It was one of those nights where no one wanted the celebration to end.
Hannah and Kai’s wedding day was a perfect reflection of who they are—warm, vibrant, and full of love. It was such a joy to capture their story and be a part of a day that felt both timeless and uniquely their own.
