There are some weddings that just stick with you—the ones where every moment feels effortlessly beautiful and full of love. Elena & Sander’s wedding at CedarVale in Hubbard was exactly that. CedarVale is one of my absolute favorite venues, and from the moment I arrived, I knew it was going to be a day to remember.

As I stepped onto the property, everyone was still in the final stages of getting ready. This gave me the perfect opportunity to capture the venue in all its charm—the intricate details, the lush greenery, and the quiet anticipation. The guys were relaxed, hanging out in the cabin, while the girls laughed together in the bridal suite, wearing matching PJs. The energy was warm, happy, and full of excitement.

Then came the moment Elena slipped into her wedding dress, and it was time for the couple’s private first look. We set Sander up beneath a stunning willow tree, the perfect setting for such a heartfelt exchange. As Elena walked up behind him and tapped his shoulder, the emotions were immediate and raw. They took their time, soaking in the moment, and read their vows to one another. It was intimate, touching, and such a beautiful reflection of their love.

Following the first look, we took couple portraits beneath the willow tree and wandered around the gorgeous venue, finding stunning backdrops for their photos. Then, it was time for bridal party and family portraits, filled with laughter and so much joy.

The ceremony itself was nothing short of magical. Held in the forest, surrounded by towering trees, it was the quintessential Oregon wedding scene. One of the most special touches was the handmade poppy rug that Sander created for them to stand on as they exchanged vows. As they said “I do” and made their way back down the aisle as husband and wife, guests tossed flower petals, creating the dreamiest moment.

After signing the marriage license in the bridal suite, Elena & Sander made their way to the lawn for the reception. Guests mingled, enjoying delicious appetizers and drinks while celebrating the newlyweds. As the evening progressed, they shared their first dance as husband and wife, followed by cake-cutting and heartfelt toasts that had everyone—myself included—wiping away tears and laughing at the same time. The father-daughter and mother-son dances were just as emotional, adding even more love-filled moments to the day.

Then, the dance floor opened, and the party truly began. Friends and family danced the night away under the stars, celebrating a love so pure and beautiful. Before I left for the evening, I stole Elena & Sander away for some final portraits down in the field. The golden light, the love between them, and the sheer magic of the day made for the perfect ending to an unforgettable wedding.
