There’s something undeniably magical about weddings held in the comfort of one’s own backyard. It’s an intimate affair, filled with personal touches and surrounded by the love of family and friends. When Jordyn and Brandon decided to tie the knot in Brandon’s parent’s backyard, they created a day that was not only beautiful but also deeply meaningful.
As their wedding photographer, I had the privilege of capturing every special moment, from the anticipation of getting ready to the joyous celebration that followed.
The day began with Jordyn preparing for her big moment at a nearby family member’s house. When I arrived, I captured their special details including the rings, shoes, jewelry, flowers, and more. Surrounded by her mom and sisters, there was excitement as she slipped into her wedding dress, adding the final touches before revealing her stunning look to her bridesmaids.
Meanwhile, Brandon and his groomsmen were getting ready at the venue site, adding the finishing touches to their attire. With his boutonniere in place, Brandon eagerly awaited his first look with his bride-to-be.
The moment arrived at the hexagon arbor adorned with sunflowers, where Jordyn and Brandon shared their first look. It was a beautiful, heartfelt moment, filled with love and anticipation for the ceremony ahead.
After exchanging vows and capturing some breathtaking couple portraits, it was time for family and wedding party portraits in the warm September sun.
Laughter and tears flowed freely as the ceremony commenced, with bubbles floating around the newlyweds as they made their way down the aisle as husband and wife.
The celebration continued with their wedding party for a group shotgun to kick off the reception, setting the tone for a night of fun and festivities. Dinner was served amidst heartfelt toasts and touching speeches, highlighting the love and support surrounding Jordyn and Brandon.
Their first dance was a moment of pure joy, shared with all the married couples who joined them on the dance floor. The lawn was alive with activity, with guests enjoying lawn games like cornhole and Jenga, and indulging in delicious treats from the cookie bar.
As the sun began to set, we stole away for some golden hour photos in the field, capturing the love and warmth of the day against the backdrop of nature’s beauty. And as the evening progressed, the dance floor filled with laughter and happiness, as friends and family celebrated the newlyweds well into the night.
Jordyn and Brandon’s backyard wedding was a testament to the beauty of love shared in familiar surroundings. It was a day filled with laughter, tears, and unforgettable moments—a day that they will cherish for a lifetime.
