Amy and Caden’s wedding took place at Hawks Run Estate which is such a beautiful venue in Hillsboro, Oregon. There’s a fabulous barn setting where the reception was and the ceremony took place in the field. Amy and Caden originally inquired about a different date for their but I was booked up that weekend and they were so kind to be flexible and choose the next weekend when I was free so I could be there to capture the day.

I’ve known Amy for as long as I can remember! We grew up in the same town and spent so many years together and became sorority sisters in college! While Amy and Caden were dating, we took some adorable couple photos in the fall as their first ever photoshoot together. Then once they were engaged, we took their engagement photos and they asked me to be their wedding photographer! It was such an honor to be there for all their milestones. 

Something that was special about their wedding day was that there were so many people to support them from all stages of their life. For example, they had their high school and college friends and family all there to party and celebrate with them on their big day, it was truly one of the best parties I’ve ever seen!

Amy and Caden wanted to take all of their formal portraits before the guests arrived, so we started off with their first look and private vows by the vineyard. Then we took photos with the wedding party, family and couple portraits. We added in some more sunset portraits during the reception and in between dancing. They then ended the night with a getaway car and a tunnel of fiber optic wands. It was such an amazing day! 

The photos that I captured on their wedding day were very romantic, fun and playful. We wanted to get lots of touching and romantic shots as well as energetic and playful ones that aligned with their personality! We also took fun photos during golden hour and with the grand exit and getaway car!

I loved shooting this wedding, because not only are they great friends of mine but there were also lots of other people that I was able to reconnect with at the wedding. It was truly a great big reunion with our sorority sisters, school friends and roommates. It made the whole day so much more meaningful.
