Mary and Zach’s wedding was at the Washington County Courthouse in Hillsboro, Oregon. The courthouse was a beautiful building with neighboring architecture and stunning landscape. There were also lots of great spots to take photos, beneath the trees and across the street for slightly more industrial, city vibes.

I met Mary through my sister. They are co – workers and she mentioned that she was getting married the next day and hadn’t found a wedding photographer! My sister texted me and asked if I was available and thankfully I was! I reached out to Mary and we locked in the details for their courthouse wedding within 24 hours. The couple was so sweet and I’m so glad that we got to connect! Something that was so special about Mary and Zach’s wedding was how intimate and quick it was. It was only their immediate family in the courtroom which was so special. And the ceremony was so quick, it seemed to be just around 60 seconds. One of the fastest ceremonies I’ve ever witnessed!

As soon as I arrived at the start of the day, we were waiting outside of the courthouse room for a little while. The ceremony only took a couple of minutes but we stayed in the courtroom to take some family photos before taking the rest outside. Then we used the rest of the time we had to take couple portraits. It was a pretty short event but so special!

The photos on their day were about capturing and celebrating their love. There weren’t any big gestures or events but I think that it was a perfect way to celebrate their love and connection. I’m also so grateful that they trusted me to get the creative shots for them to remember forever (especially on such short notice!)

I loved shooting this wedding because it was just a random weekday and I booked it on such short notice. Their whole day came together so perfectly and I think that it’s inspiring for those couples who just can’t wait to tie the knot. And being a part of their day was so fulfilling.
