Emily and Jason’s wedding was at the Abernethy Center in Oregon City. The venue is popular in my area and they always do such a good job and the location is beautiful! There are so many good photo spots and the staff is amazing. The venue is also great at changing up the experience to fit each wedding and personality of the couples.

I met Emily because we went to high school together but we hadn’t connected until she got engaged to Jason and reached out to me to ask to capture their wedding! They live on the other side of the world in Australia so they flew to Oregon for a few weeks for their wedding. This meant that we had to fit their engagement photos in a week before their wedding. It was so fun to meet them and we quickly learned that we have a lot in common and connected over our love for Disney magic!

There were so many unique and special moments of Emily & Jason’s wedding day. They incorporated hints of Disney throughout and it was so fun! Emily wore a sparkly Mickey pin in her hair and their seating chart was titled “Be Our Guest”.  Their guest books were all Disney princess story books like Cinderella and Enchanted and Emily’s jacket had a hidden Mickey. There were so many thoughtful and fun details throughout the day!

My second shooter and I got to the venue before the bride and bridesmaids arrived so we could start by photographing venue details. Then once Emily was ready, we drove the bride and groom separately down to the chapel to do a first touch by the chapel door. This was such an intimate, special moment where they could privately read their vows to each other and exchange wedding gifts. They then went back to their separate getting ready areas to make some finishing touches before the ceremony. Then after the ceremony we did all of the formal portraits with family & friends. We ate, danced, listened to speeches and enjoyed fun dessert!

Emily & Jason ended their fairytale day with a bubble exit. Their whole day went so smoothly and was a success!

Throughout the wedding I got to capture their romance, joy and fun! Emily & Jason were so easygoing and truly trusted me and my second shooter to capture their wedding day and their feelings.

I loved shooting this wedding, not only because it was filled with Disney magic, but because it was a testimony to how far they’ve come! (literally too) Traveling from Australia to Oregon and all of their family and friends traveling to be with the couple on their wedding day.
