This wedding was such a meaningful event. They both worked so hard to plan this big day and then were able to step back, notice it and take it all in. It was really clear to see how proud they were and celebrate with friends and family.
I went to high school with Courtnie but we hadn’t talked in years so it was amazing to reconnect! After she got engaged I was so happy that she reached out to me to be her wedding photographer. Both Cody and Courtnie were so positive throughout the whole day and they were the sweetest clients ever! Their positivity and happiness made it so easy to prepare and chat with them leading up to the big day. 🙂
Something really unique about their wedding was that their wedding theme was ‘Til Death Do Us Part’ and the decor included lots of skulls as well as rustic details and twinkly lights! It was very spot on with their personalities. They also had a unity ceremony in which they attached a lock onto a barbed wire heart which used to be hung at Cody’s grandma’s house. It was such a special, unique touch and now they have a piece of her in their home. 🤍
On their wedding day we jumped straight into the first look when I arrived so the couple could see each other! Then we just had some time to relax and get ready for the bridal party photos. We moved onto the family portraits with enough time before the ceremony. The ceremony was supper quick and after the couple mingled with the guests and were able to celebrate with their friends and family!
Courtnie and Cody had a few specific shots that they asked me to capture but they also fully trusted me to capture their wedding day with my own vision and it felt amazing being able to bring their love story to life! I absolutely loved shooting this wedding and it was amazing how easy going and happy they were all day! Their day went exactly to plan and it was so special, they even asked me to sign their marriage license as a witness which I’m so grateful for!
