WEDDINGS + ELOPEMENTS + COUPLES

Erica & Ian’s Waterfall Elopement

Erica and Ian’s elopement was such a unique and incredible experience, I’m seriously so grateful I got to photograph it! Their elopement took place at Silver Falls State Park in Oregon, and this location was a special adventure location for them, just adding to that personal, memorable experience. 🤍

I had a shoot with Erica and Ian in the previous fall and it was such a great experience! They were so easy going and had a lot of fun together, they were some of my favorite clients within the first year of my business, so I was very excited to be working with them again! I loved how nobody knew about it and  how small and intimate this elopement was. It was such a fun experience, Erica wore hiking boots for their elopement and when we went down to the waterfall she wasn’t afraid to get her dress dirty! It was also such a special experience too, we were in a public place and so there were lots of strangers congratulating them as they walked past even though many of Erica and Ian’s friends and family didn’t know about the wedding!

The whole process of booking and planning their elopement was quite a short, spur of the moment one, which I think made it even more exciting! Erica reached out to me the week of their elopement telling me they needed a photographer ASAP. I moved my schedule around a bit which meant I could go and photograph their elopement, on a bit of a whim! Not only was this my first secret elopement but also my first waterfall wedding! The ceremony was super intimate with only a small group of their family there. Since it was all secret, I didn’t share any photos for the first couple of months and there was something so special about being one of the few people to know about their marriage.

Their entire elopement day was so intimate and personal to them. We started the day with a first look and then we moved onto the ceremony which took place along the river, where there were members of the public in the park who were having picnics and hiking! Then we moved onto family photos before the waterfall hike which was so fun and then some more photos to ensure that I captured their day and all their emotions.

Originally Erica and Ian weren’t planning to hire a professional photographer for their elopement and so I was so excited and glad to be able to step in to capture their special day and also to help relieve some of the stress. They were able to enjoy their intimate ceremony and be intentional in the moment while I captured their experience in authentic, emotional photos for them.

KIND WORDS:

“Oh my goodness they turned out even better than I imagined. I could cry! Thank you so much for capturing such a fun time in our lives!”

I know I’ve already said this like a million times but their elopement was seriously so fun and special and I am so so grateful that I got to work with Erica and Ian again to capture their beautiful, intimate elopement. 🤍
